Media Registration Guidelines & Information

Pre-registration is now open for the media.
A valid press ID card will be required for all media accreditations.

PLEASE CAREFULLY READ ALL OF THE GUIDELINES BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION

The World Ophthalmology Congress® 2014 welcomes all media (reporters, writers, photographers and videographers).

Journalists and media representatives wishing to obtain media accreditation must complete the Media Online Registration Form. Applications are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and applicants will be notified when their media accreditation has been accepted. Please note that you may be asked to submit your latest publication to support your application. Media may register on-site; however, in order to use your time most efficiently, pre-registration is highly-recommended.

Guidelines

  • The World Ophthalmology Congress® 2014 reserves the right to refuse or ask for the return of media credentials for any reason.
    *Media registration is free. Travel and accommodation expenses is your personal responsibility.
  • The World Ophthalmology Congress® 2014 presentations are embargoed until immediately after their delivery. Media accredited in advance are entitled access to:
    • Opening Ceremony, April 2, 2014 (prior registration required, press area only photography, video and audio recording allowed)
    • Opening Reception, April 2, 2014 (photography, video and audio recording allowed; consumption of food and beverages not allowed)
    • Japan Night, April 4, 2014 (photography, video and audio recording allowed; consumption of food and beverages not allowed)
    • All scientific sessions, April 2-6 2014 (photography, video and audio recording is not allowed)
    • Exhibition Hall, April 2-6 2014 (photography, video and audio recording Japan Ophthalmic Instruments Association permission required)
  • The World Ophthalmology Congress® 2014 media accreditations are granted to a limited number of qualified press and media representatives; hence it is recommended that you apply as early as possible in order to assure your place at the event.
  • At The World Ophthalmology Congress® 2014 all on-site organizer staff instructions are to be strictly followed in regards to reporter locations and related instructions.
  • At The World Ophthalmology Congress® 2014 photography, video and audio recording is not allowed, except when permission has been given.
  • The World Ophthalmology Congress® 2014 pre-registered media accreditation persons will be required to present an official press badge, business card or some other acceptable form of identification listing their editorial title. Some job titles that are not acceptable include, but are not limited to: Principal, Partner, Account Executive, Public Relations Manager, Sales Manager and Advertising Manager.
  • The World Ophthalmology Congress® 2014 press badges must be worn at all times to gain access to all sessions, the exhibit hall and the pressroom. Press badges will be distributed on-site at the registration desk.
  • At The World Ophthalmology Congress® 2014 registered media are allowed regular access to the pressroom during its open hours.
  • The World Ophthalmology Congress® 2014 must authorize permission before interviewing individual speakers.
  • The World Ophthalmology Congress® 2014 registered media is not allowed to distribute promotional materials of any kind during, unless they have a stand at the exhibition or another previously-agreed arrangement with WOC2014 (such as media partnerships, barter deals).
  • The World Ophthalmology Congress® 2014 recorded or photographed material is for editorial use only in conjunction with a news story related to the congress.
  • The World Ophthalmology Congress® 2014 registered media broadcasting/publishing schedules should be reported in advance. Broadcasted/published materials should be sent after publication.
  • At The World Ophthalmology Congress® 2014 mobile phones, electronic devices, etc. must be set to silent/vibrator mode or switched off within the venue.
